Jan - I think the comment you made to Karen was very condescending and a little bit unkind. Helping her solve the problem she has would have been more tasteful. Here is my opinion - I had this problem myself - get one of the cute swimming suits that have a pocket for a prosthesis. Check with your insurance company as they may be able to help you pay for this or you can buy them yourself online or at a Women's Center. Purchase a prosthesis that is the same size as your other breast and tuck it into the pocket. Your local hospital or Women's Health Center may have someone who can fit you if you need assistance. Take a look at the suits - they are cute. If you get the right fit on the swimsuit top no one will ever know and you will have the confidence to go in the water again. Have fun, you deserve it.

You might not have noticed but before you had your mastectomies, your breasts were not equal in size. Find a swim suit you like and just wear it. You are young, strong and a survivor. Don't let a swim suit take away from that. Celebrate being alive and live life to the fullest.
