Tonya Sue Carther and Kim Carther

I was shocked to receive an email a couple of hours ago informing me that Tonya Sue Carther succumbed from the cancer she has been fighting for the last 2 years.  Tonya Sue Carther is the creator of this site, Cancer Fairy Godmother.  The news made me so sad, and yet proud to have been a small part of her selfless quest to deliver vital information to cancer patients and survivors to help in getting free products and services.  Tonya Sue will be missed by her friends and family.

When I met Tonya Sue she was working for a client of mine in Old Tappan New Jersey and it was hard not to me impacted by her fire and enthusiasm for life.  After Tonya Sue was diagnosed with  Stage 4 Breast Cancer, she left work to go through her treatments, and we stayed in contact.  In going through this process, she began to see the issues and problems in coping with the effects of cancer treatments in her daily life, and set out to create a resource to help others in similar situations through this site Cancer Fairy Godmother.  She tirelessly hunted down information for free and low cost solutions to help cancer patients and survivors and published that information on this site.

Tonya Sue, who would think this little girl with three little pony tails that approached me over 40 years ago to jump rope, would become my best friend and a sister to me. We have share so many good times and bad from laughter to tears, great dates to heartache, from teaching me the Hustle to learning how to Salsa. Stomping on my toes a few times but my girl GOT IT. I will MISS YOU and LOVE YOU Always, you will live on in my Memories and FOREVER in my HEART..

I didn’t know her. But my heart goes out to her family! Everyone involved, you have my heartfelt sympathy. Fighting Triple Negative Breast cancer is brutal. Hearing of losses makes me feel so helpless. How I wish for prevention and a cure!! My own mother. Whom I was stolen from. I found her when I was 19 & pregnant. I had a short visit in her hospital room. She never shared if I had a dad or family. Nor did I share she’d be a grandmother. I’ ll never for get her look. She lived to be 46. Now I’m that Wife, Mother and grandmother. I made it to live at little older then she so far. To me all of the fighter and ones that didn’t make it are the friends I’ve yet to meet! Whether on earth or on Heaven. I live in Unbearable pain from head to toe. How to live and escape this brutal pain? I question if its possible!

Miss you always. Having you in my life was a blessing. Being a close friend of yours was a privilege.Your outlook on life and love of living impacted everyone you’ve ever met and for those who knew you well there is a huge hole where you used to be. Because of you I will never quit if you could deal with cancer, in the fashion you did and fought thru to the end, I can make it thru the little road blocks and keep it moving—“Just keep going straight” Love you
